Non-Discrimination and Anti-Harassement Policy
The University of Georgia (“the University”) is committed to maintaining a fair and respectful environment for living, work and study. To that end, and in accordance with federal and state law, Board of Regents' policy, and University policy, the University prohibits any member of the faculty, staff, administration, student body, or visitors to campus, whether they be guests, patrons, independent contractors, or clients, from harassing and/or discriminating against any other member of the University community because of that person's race, sex (including sexual harassment), sexual orientation, ethnic or national origin, religion, age, disabled status, or status as a disabled veteran or veteran of the Vietnam era. Incidents of harassment and discrimination will be met with appropriate disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal from the University.

NOTE: As of October 1, 2008 the NDAH Policy has moved under the purview of the Equal Opportunity Office. Please re-direct all NDAH inquiries to that office.

Grievance and Disciplinary Review Policy
A grievance or disciplinary review will be available to handle claims that a person has been harmed by any action that violates the policies of either the University of Georgia (“the University”) or the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia (“Board of Regents”) or for requested disciplinary review pursuant to the University policy, entitled Conduct, Dismissal, Demotion or Suspension, which can be accessed below.

Dispute Resolution Policy
The University of Georgia (“the University”) is committed to maintaining a campus environment where its diverse population can live, work and learn in an atmosphere of tolerance, civility, and mutual respect for the rights, duties, and sensibilities of each individual.

Members of the University community inevitably will have disagreements. The University's Dispute Resolution Program (“the Program”) was created to help members of the University community resolve disagreements. Among other things, the Program provides members of the University community with the resources necessary to resolve disputes informally and pursue mediation of disputes.

Arrest and Conviction Policy
Board of Regents' policy requires any current employee who is arrested or convicted of a crime to report that information to the Office of Legal Affairs.
Mediation Project
The Mediation Project at the University of Georgia will provide neutral, trained third party mediators to parties in the University community involved in disputes. Mediation is free and totally voluntary. No one will be required to engage in mediation at any time. Parties engaged in grievance proceedings may suspend the grievance process and attempt mediation at any time. If a solution is not reached through mediation, the parties may return to the grievance proceedings
Georgia Open Records Act
The Office of Public Affairs is responsible for administering the University's compliance with the Georgia Open Records Act. This law places important responsibilities on you as a University administrator or staff member. Most of all, be sure to notify University Communications (542-8090) immediately when you receive a request for any record held by your office.
